Cabinet pulls instead of dummy door knobs?

Hi there,
I am looking to upgrade the builder’s standard golden brass dummy (inactive, non-turning) door knobs on my closet doors (double doors).
Do you think that it is fine for me to put some nice 96mm cabinet door pull handles in place of these old knobs?
I realize that there would be some holes left by the screws and I plan to fill them and paint the doors again.

No problem at all. You could (if you were so inclined) even mount some of the very old styles of knobs such as what is in the link, where you mount just the knob, or you can also mount the faceplate of your choice as well as the knob. You just drill a hole for the spindle, but use a bolt and washer from the inside to hold it on rather than the normal spindle. Cabinet pulls will work just fine as well if you don’t wish to get that ornate, and your choices are almost infinite with them.
