Reason 1. You can lift more weights safely. 2. Unlike the bench press, the seated chest press is safe, you do not have to worry about the weights over your head falling down on you, crushing your face, chest, neck etc. Doing seated chest presses can save your life. Doing bench presses can possible kill you. 3. It is fun!

You may be right to some extent but it depends on personal convenience also.
