why do cats need to sit so high up? I have two that sit on top of my kitchen cabinets and my hutch.?

Cats can be very territorial animals. My cats do this and its because they are “surveying their vast domain.”hehe. They feel like they are the alpha dog (or cat) and they are observing their people. Cats often feel safer higher up as well. They are higher then they usually are (and sometimes higher than people) which makes them feel powerful. In the wild, it would be an intimidation technique. Loving cats just want to be closer to us by becoming our height!
