My 8 year old is ready for a change of bed…trundle?

My daughter’s cousins got a bunk bed (they have 4 boys-obvious choice), now we are ready for remodeling of her bedroom and she wants a bunk. Her room is small, and I think she will grow out of a bunk soon, so thinking of a trundle bed. That will accommodate sleepovers for now, and storage for later. Those of you of that have trundles, or those chose not to buy trundles, why or why not? Thanks.
