is it normal for one twin to start her period years before the other?
im caring for my younger sisters who are almost 14 and born identical twins. one twin though has an average weight and is two inches shorter then the other. the older twin is very heavy, like 175 and 5’4.
the youngest twin started her period a little before she turned 12, so why hasnt the other one started yet if they are identical?
can the weight difference have anything to do with that?
It’s very normal to have them start at different times. Menstruation, believe it or not, is affected by many different environmental factors which have nothing to do with genetics. Hormones and stress for example are things that vary from person to person, and can be affected by different lifestyles. Diet, exercise, stress levels, along with countless other environmental influences all play a factor in this.
In simple terms, just as these factors play a role in the difference in their weight and their height, so does it also when it comes to their menstruation.
