Are molded plastic guitar cases better than wood cases, for a Fender Tele?

I am thinking of getting an Ash Tele. I would like to get a hardshell case but am not sure if I should go with wood or molded plastic.

I like plastic myself. Wood can chip and split, plastic seems less susceptible to that. Not a huge amount of difference though.
