Can I use any coil mattress with my adjustable frame twin extra long bed?

I have an adjustable bed and I want to put a coil mattress on it. Can I use any one that fits? Or only those made especailly for an adjustable frame. Must it be thin?What if the mattress has a cord around it-will it still work?

Nearly all coil mattresses have what’s called a border wire attached to the coils to give edge support. For an adjustable bed you need to find any mattress that does not have a border wire. Also consider foam, memory foam, or latex are all good choices.
